Round Robin story: Josepha's Tale

This totally non-fictitious chronicle begins in the catacombs of an ancient city. Its cryptic ruins tell tales of old within architectural decay. “Here lie the beasts of majesty, impartiality, and corruption”, a hand-carved stone reads by the entrance of a disguised cave. Five inhabitants of the city wander towards the entrance in a single file line, mumbling chants from the scripts they had spent months memorizing for this day. The first in line carries a candle, to brighten their path ahead. The second, a gentleman, carries a glistening piece of volcanic glass, rumored to keep the murk of the city in check. The third, a wise man, hefts a slab of marble, said to bring balance and fair hopes to all that live in the city. Following the wise man, a long-retired warrior brings with him a meteorite shard, proven to glow amidst the passing of the evening, bringing light to the darkest of times.
